Welcome to our blog! I’m Danielle Grace, wife to Joshua and mommy to Preston and Troy. I’m a graphic designer and social media strategist, and Joshua is a former infantryman and instructor in the United States Marine Corps. He separated from the military in the fall of 2016 and is now a corporate manager at global communications company. This is our story.
I’m originally from Upstate New York and Northern New Jersey, while Josh is kind of from all over… but mostly calls South Carolina and Cleveland, Ohio home. We met in 2008 in Cleveland. Joshua’s father and stepmother introduced us while I was interning at American Greetings and Josh was home on leave. I believe that meeting Joshua is the reason I moved to Cleveland, because shortly after we met I relocated back to New York!
After 3 years of long distance dating, traveling up and down the east coast, 2 deployments, changing jobs, 2 more moves from NY to NC and NC to VA, we were married in June of 2011. We moved again in 2013 to coastal North Carolina where we purchased our first home. A year and a half later, we were blessed with the best surprise in the world… I was pregnant with a baby boy!
Preston Kade was born in November of 2014, weighing in at just 5 1/2 pounds. Our lives have changed so much since he came into the world and we became parents, and every day just keeps getting better and better.
In August of 2016, Joshua left the Marine Corps to pursue a new career in Northern New Jersey, and our family moved from NC to NJ shortly after welcoming our second son into the posse! Troy Michael was born in September of 2016, outweighing his brother at 8 pounds 4 ounces.
Our lives have dramatically changed in the past year, and we are adjusting to a new state, new career, and growing family all at once. We’ve had our struggles, but we’ve fought through them (ha) and we’ve never been stronger. Our boys are the light of our lives and we love them with a whole new part of our hearts that we didn’t even know existed.
This is my way of recording our memories, staying in touch with family, making new friends, cultivating a creative outlet, and sharing our adventures as new parents. Thank you for visiting us!
